Telegraphic Transfer (TT) FAQ

1) How long does a transfer take to reach the beneficiary?

Transactions processed before 6pm GMT+8 (Monday - Friday) will take T+5 banking days. Transfers initiated on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next banking business day.

2) What are the transaction limits?

There is no maximum limit for individual transfers. However, a cumulative compliance limit of USD 50,000.00 applies per sender.

3) What countries support for Telegraphic Transfer (TT) payment now?

Below are the current countries that support Telegraphic Transfer (TT):
1) Saudi Arabia
2) Japan
3) Vietnam

4) What are the supported currencies for Telegraphic Transfer (TT)?

Tranglo currently supports transactions in USD (US Dollar) only.

5) What information must be accurate when creating a transaction?

a) Beneficiary’s account currency must be the same as currency used in the transaction.
b) Correct SWIFT code of the beneficiary’s bank
c) Optional: Branch code (if provided, it must be exactly 3 characters to avoid rejection).

6) Can I cancel a transfer after submission?

Cancellation is processed on a best-effort basis. Once a transaction is accepted by Tranglo’s system and submitted to the payout channel, cancellation cannot be guaranteed.

7) Are service charges refundable?

No. Transaction fees are non-refundable once the transfer is accepted and submitted by Tranglo’s system.

8) Is a branch code mandatory?

No, a branch code is optional. However, if included, it must be exactly 3 characters long to prevent transaction rejection.

9) Are there restrictions on sender/beneficiary account types?

No. Both individual and company accounts are supported for senders and beneficiaries.

10) Is there system validation available?

Tranglo does not perform system validation on beneficiary accounts. Kindly ensure all details (SWIFT code, account number, and branch code) are accurate correct before submission.

11) Where can I find the SWIFT codes?

Kindly refer to the list of supported SWIFT codes from the supported countries' service specifications page, under Telegraphic Transfer (TT) Payment.

12) What are the prohibited industries for Telegraphic Transfer transactions?

Transfers involving the following industries are prohibited: a) Selling illegal products or services b) Online gambling or internet gambling c) Offering pyramid schemes d) Cryptocurrency exchanges/wallets/schemes e) Pseudo pharmaceuticals

13) Why is my Telegraphic Transfer transaction on hold?

Transactions exceeding compliance limits are held for review. Kindly submit the required documents promptly to resolve delays.

14) What if the transaction remains “In Process” after T+5 banking days?

Kindly check with our Tranglo Support team for the latest transaction status. If the intermediary bank is not SWIFT gpi-enabled, the customer may be advised to contact the intermediary bank directly for the latest updates.

15) How do I initiate a Telegraphic Transfer (TT) if I’ve never used this service before?

Transactions can be made through the gloRemit portal or SOAP/REST API.

16) Will the beneficiary receive the full payment?

The beneficiary will receive the net amount specified by the sender.

17) How do I know which purpose of transfer to select?

18) Will Tranglo provide payment advice for Telegraphic Transfers transactions?
