Summary
The Security Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the organization’s information security functions. This includes managing the Security Operations Center (SOC), leading incident response, and ensuring proactive threat monitoring and remediation. The role bridges technical expertise with business impact, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Tranglo’s information assets.
Key Responsibility
- Lead the Security Operations function, including real-time monitoring, alert triage, and incident response
- Manage and continuously improve the SOC and threat detection capabilities
- Oversee vulnerability assessments and ensure timely remediation with relevant teams
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for incident handling
- Coordinate with IT, Compliance, and Legal teams to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., RMiT, ISO 27001)
- Conduct post-incident reviews and root cause analysis
- Manage security toolsets (e.g., SIEM, EDR, threat intel feeds) and ensure they’re optimized
- Build and lead a team of security analysts and incident responders
- Provide security metrics and risk reporting to management
Required skills & qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, IT, or related field
- 5+ years in IT security operations, with 2+ years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001)
- Experience with security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, SOAR)
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as RMiT, GDPR, PCI-DSS
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred certification
- CISSP, CISM, or GIAC certifications (e.g., GCIA, GCIH)
- ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Auditor (a plus)
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Alibaba) and DevSecOps
