1) How do I initiate a Telegraphic Transfer (TT) if I’ve never used this service before?
You can initiate a Telegraphic Transfer (TT) transaction through the gloRemit portal or by integrating with our system via SOAP or REST API.

2) What countries support for Telegraphic Transfer (TT) payment now?
Please refer to our Service Specification for the list of supported countries.
3) What are the supported currencies for Telegraphic Transfer (TT)?
Tranglo currently supports transactions in USD (U.S. Dollar) and local currencies for most countries within our network.
Please confirm with the beneficiary whether their account can receive payments in the local currency. This helps ensure the transaction is processed smoothly and avoids any potential delays or rejections.

4) Where can I find the SWIFT codes?
Please refer to the list of supported SWIFT codes in the service specifications for supported countries, under the Telegraphic Transfer (TT) payment section.
If you can't find your SWIFT code in the list, please contact our team - they’ll be happy to assist you.
5) Will the beneficiary receive the full payment?
Yes, the beneficiary will receive the net amount specified by the sender.
6) How do I know which purpose of transfer to select?
When initiating a Telegraphic Transfer (TT), you'll be prompted to select a purpose of transfer from a predefined list. This selection helps ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitates smoother processing by the receiving bank.
To choose the correct purpose:
- Review the options provided and select the one that most accurately describes the reason for your transaction (e.g. goods and services, investment income, grants and gifts, etc).
- If you're unsure which category fits your transfer, refer to the transaction documentation or check with the recipient.
- You can also reach out to our team for assistance in selecting the appropriate purpose.
Always ensure the chosen purpose aligns with the actual reason for the transfer to avoid processing delays or rejections.
7) How long does a transfer take to reach the beneficiary?
A Telegraphic Transfer (TT) typically takes 1* business days to reach the beneficiary, depending on the destination country, the receiving bank, and any intermediary banks involved.
Delays may occur due to:
- Public holidays in either country
- Additional compliance or verification checks
- Incomplete or incorrect beneficiary details

8) Is there a cut-off time?
Yes, the cut-off time is 6 PM (GMT+8), Monday to Friday.
Transactions submitted before the cut-off will be processed on the same business day, while those submitted after 6 PM or on weekends/public holidays will be processed on the next business day.
9) Will Tranglo provide payment advice for Telegraphic Transfers transactions?
Yes, Tranglo provides payment advice for Telegraphic Transfer (TT) transactions. You can download the remittance receipt from the Transaction Log page on the gloRemit portal.
10) What are the transaction limits?
While there is no maximum limit for individual transfers, a cumulative compliance limit of USD 50,000.00 applies per sender.
11) Which information needs to be accurate when initiating a transaction?
The following information must be accurate when creating a transaction:
- Beneficiary’s account currency must match the currency used in the transaction.
- SWIFT code of the beneficiary’s bank must be correct.
- (Optional) Branch code – if provided, it must be exactly 3 characters to avoid rejection.
12) Can I cancel a transfer after submission?
Cancellations are processed on a best-effort basis. Once a transaction is accepted by Tranglo’s system and submitted to the payout channel, cancellation cannot be guaranteed.
13) Are service charges refundable?
No. Transaction fees are non-refundable once the transfer has been accepted and submitted by Tranglo’s system.
14) Is a branch code mandatory?
No, a branch code is optional. However, if you choose to provide one, it must be exactly 3 characters long to avoid transaction rejection.
15) Are there restrictions on sender or beneficiary account types?
No, there are no restrictions. Both individual and company accounts are supported for senders and beneficiaries.
16) Is system validation available?
Tranglo does not perform system validation on beneficiary accounts. Please ensure that all details - including SWIFT code, account number, and branch code - are accurate before submission to avoid delays or rejections.
17) What are the prohibited industries for Telegraphic Transfer (TT) transactions?
Transfers involving the following industries are strictly prohibited:
- Selling illegal products or services
- Online gambling or internet gambling
- Offering pyramid schemes
- Cryptocurrency exchanges/wallets/schemes
- Pseudo pharmaceuticals
18) Why is my Telegraphic Transfer transaction (TT) on hold?
Transactions that exceed compliance limits may be placed on hold for review. To avoid further delays, please submit the required supporting documents as soon as possible.
19) What if my transaction remains “In Process” after 5 banking days?
Please contact our team for the latest update on your transaction status.
